I use AI. Pretending otherwise would be the first dishonest thing on this site.
What follows is where it sits in the work, and what it doesn’t touch.
What you’re paying for
You’re paying for an outside eye. A read on how the thing you’ve built actually lands, from someone who isn’t inside it. That judgement is the product, and it comes from a person who has looked at your business and made a call.
Model output isn’t that. I don’t hand it over as though it were.
Where the tools are
In the process. I use AI to draft, to summarise, to pressure-test an argument, to find the hole in my own reasoning before you do. I use it for the admin around the work – email, notes, tidying up.
That’s a tool doing what tools do. It isn’t a second opinion, because it hasn’t seen anything.
What gets generated
There’s a difference between using AI on the way to something and publishing what a model produced.
Where a piece of copy, an image or a piece of research is generated by AI, I’ll say so – on this site, and in the work I hand you. You shouldn’t have to guess, and you shouldn’t have to read a policy to find out.
Your data
I don’t sell your personal information, and I don’t hand it over to train AI models. What happens to it is set out in the Privacy Policy.
This will change
These tools move faster than policies do. This page describes how I work now. When that changes, this changes. Thoughts? Email info@un-usual.co.uk.
The short version
At the end of the day, AI is used like most people, experimenting, critiquing, sometimes generating – it is treated with the requisite scepticism. Checked and challenged. Refined. Nothing nefarious happens. The same rule of thumb is applied to AI use as to any other set of T&Cs that may or may not get read in full – “don’t be a dick”.
And, if you’re a human reading this, fair play. A machine helped me write it. But, it has been deeply considered by a human mind.
